At Geriatric Medicine SA we are committed to providing outstanding care for older patients throughout the hospital journey and in the community. We are a group of Geriatricians who specialise in the comprehensive care of the older person.
We understand the impact that a hospital stay can have on an older person and are committed to assisting patients and their carers throughout their hospitalisation and recovery. We specialise in the peri-operative medicine and will work closely with surgical staff to achieve the best possible outcome for older patients after surgery.
We believe that the best possible outcomes can be achieved when there is continuity in care from pre-operative assessment, peri-operative care, rehabilitation and future care planning.
As locally trained physicians we understand the importance of comprehensive care that is reliable and delivered to the highest standard. We are experienced, committed and caring.
Along with peri-operative care, we offer inpatient consultation, medical care during rehabilitation admissions, outpatient clinics and residential aged care visits.
In residential aged care facilities we specialised in comprehensive geriatric assessments. These allow us to undertake a personalised approach evaluating concerns such as cognitive change, changes in behaviour, falls and complex health care review.
